We love our Christmas Pud in Australia, but with the summer sun blazing and everyone already stuffed with good food, a dessert made heavy with suet or other animal fats just doesn’t sit right – on the tummy or the conscience.
The Australian Bush Christmas Pudding is a lighter style of steamed pudding; rich in fruit, macadamia nut, spices and brandy but with no suet, no breadcrumbs, no dairy, no added salt and no artificial flavours or colours. It is sold in the bowl in which it was made, which means less handling, better hygiene, recyclable packaging and greater convenience on a hot and busy day.
You just pop the pudding in its boil-proof bag into the steamer to heat it up. No foil caps or string or fiddly stuff required. You can also heat it by microwave or even eat it cold – but you wouldn’t want to miss out on the fun of setting it alight, would you? Instructions are on the bag.
The Australian Bush Christmas Pudding costs $28 and serves 6-8 people. |
